The Abbeville County School District Board of Trustees has decided that Dr. Charles Mason Gary of Belton will be the interim superintendent of the Abbeville County School District for the 2020-2021 school year, school board chairman James Tisdale, Jr. said Tuesday night.
Gary, a retired educator, will serve while the Abbeville County School District will search for a permanent replacement for Dr. Julie Fowler, who is stepping down as superintendent.
More information about Gary, one of six candidates for the post that the trustees interviewed, will be released in the coming days.
