Abbeville Area Medical Center ongoing supply needs

Submitted by Meg Davis

AAMC continues to play a significant role in our community’s response to COVID-19 but recognizes that a prolonged period of care will be challenging without additional medical supplies – currently in short supply throughout the country. In preparation for an increase in patient volumes related to COVID-19, AAMC will be accepting donations of much-needed medical supplies to help protect their health care workers.

Many generous individuals, nonprofits, private companies and others have already reached out to offer support in the wake of the Coronavirus pandemic. Currently, the biggest need is additional Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and sanitizing and disinfecting supplies. Personal Protective Equipment, Surgical masks, N95 masks (particularly size small, but all sizes are needed), Face shields; Sanitation/ Disinfection; Lysol/other disinfectant spray; Clorox wipes; Hand sanitizer; Self-contained HEPA filtration units. Please call Meg Davis at (864)366-3364, or email mdavis@abbevilleareamc.com, if you have items available to donate or have questions. Please be advised that companies are not required to donate, and each company should assess its own needs going forward and retain items needed to safely complete their daily tasks.
