The filing period for the special school board election to fill Mark Peeler's seat begins Feb. 28 and runs through March 13 at noon, in preparation for a special election coming up on April 28, said Kim London, Abbeville County voter registration and elections director.
Peeler represented Area Seven on the school board before his resignation was announced at a school board meeting earlier this year, London said.
Peeler had 31 months left on his unexpired term.
Those wishing to file as candidates for the seat need to contact the voter registration office at 366-6690, ext. 53.
