Dear Community,
My husband and I are newcomers as Abbeville residents, retiring in 2019 and we love this city! How blessed we are to live in such a beautiful place with caring, loving citizens.
But I must admit -- I was very surprised when voting at the recent primary elections how small the turnout was.
Here were the statistics reported: 21.51% voter turnout; 3,399 ballots cast from 15,801 registered voters.
I am writing to ask each of you to please take the time to vote on November 3, 2020. It is so important to our country--and it is a privilege many countries are not allowed.
Your vote can make the difference. Our city needs your support, our state needs your support and our country needs your support.
I hope to see much different statistics in November! See you at the Polls!
